1. What is a business center?
A business center is professional work environment that offers a complete office package for one monthly fee. As part of the monthly fee, you receive access to thousands of square feet of shared space, a receptionist who greets your clients and accepts packages and mail, shared café, complimentary meeting rooms and access to other business services on a pay-as-you go basis.
2. What types of services are available?
LifeWorks offers both fixed and variable services. The fixed fees will include your rent, furniture, phone line, telephone answering and internet - these are bundled into one monthly fee. Included in your monthly rent are 4 hours a month of meeting room use and a receptionist from 8-5, M-F. In addition to the monthly fixed services, you may use as needed the following services:
- Long Distance
- Copy Service
- Fax Service
- Additional Meeting Room
- Administrative Support
- Color and Black and White Printing
- Off-site server storage
- Website hosting and e-mail services
3. How long of an agreement do I have to sign?
We use a Service Agreement, just as you would when you rent a car. This is not a traditional lease with 50 pages. Our agreement is a simple 2 page, fill in the blank form. You can rent an office for a hour, day, week or month. However, we only require service agreements when signing for more than a month. The length of contracts are typically 6 mo, 1 and 2 year agreements.

5. What is a Virtual Office or Business Identity?
Our Virtual Office Program provides you with a dedicated phone number answered in your company name from 8-5. You also use our business address as your business address on your letterhead, business cards and website. You may also use our shared fax line as your own. The Virtual Office is perfect for individuals who are starting a business or who are setting up a local office. This is a monthly program and can be cancelled within 30 days. The Virtual Office is typically the first step before moving into one of our complete offices.
6. What equipment do I need to purchase?
Nothing. LifeWorks Business Center has everything you need to operate your business. Why purchase or lease a copier when you don't need it every day? We have copiers, fax, printers, scanner, etc. for you to use as you need. We even have office supplies on hand should you run out of your own. Our offices are furnished with contemporary furniture and décor and high-speed Internet connectivity. We also have staff available to answer your phones and take care of administrative needs. Just bring your computer and your files. We will do the rest.
7. I already have a business phone line. Do I have to use one of yours?
We suggest you keep your existing business number and forward to one of our DID (direct in-dial) numbers. You will probably pay a $25 fee to the phone company for this "hard forward", but you can take the number with you should you need to relocate or you grow out of our space! We would also recommend that you establish a permanent number with the phone company even if you are only getting a Virtual Office - again, you can take the number with you.
8. Isn't an office with you more expensive than traditional space?
No. Many people try to break down the cost of our space by square foot which does seem much more expensive than traditional space. What they don't consider, however, is the additional space that they have access to 24/7 - which includes the reception area, the conference room, the kitchen, the copy room, etc - all of which they would have to pay for if they had their own space. There aren't many landlords that will lease 150 square feet - you still have to pay for the walking space that gets you to the office. Also, our clients do not have the costs that are typically associated with building out new space and installing equipment. We have covered the cost of build-out, phone installation and maintenance, internet lines and maintenance, décor, artwork, staff, etc. They don't think about the money they would spend if they had a receptionist on duty 40 hours a week. Other fees associated with traditional space might be broker referral fees, legal fees, time lost during build out, the risk of signing a long term lease on space and phone/internet lines.
Actually, business center space is LESS expensive than traditional space when you look at the complete costs of operating an office.
9. When can I move in?
Unlike traditional space, you can move into LifeWorks Business Center within 24 hours of signing your service agreement.
10. If I'm not a tenant. Can I just rent an office or meeting room?
Yes. LifeWorks offers a completely equipped training room, small and large conference rooms and private offices that you can rent by the hour, day or week. Hourly rates start at just $30 an hour for the private office. Daily rates are also available.
